If you’ve been using PostHog’s funnel insights aggregated by sessions, there’s a small but meaningful update that changes how you investigate drop-offs.

I can now click on any step in a session-based funnel and see the actual persons behind the numbers; who converted and who didn’t make it past that stage.

Before this, session-aggregated funnels gave me the conversion rates, but I couldn’t drill down to specific users at each step. I had to either switch to user-based aggregation or piece together the picture from separate insights. That friction is gone now.

Stop guessing who dropped off in PostHog funnel

With this update, I select a funnel step, and PostHog surfaces the individual users who either moved forward or dropped off at that exact point.
This makes it straightforward to identify patterns.

Whether a specific segment is consistently abandoning at the same step, or whether drop-off is scattered across different user types.

For anyone running session-based funnels, this closes a real gap. The analysis that used to require extra workarounds now happens directly where the funnel data already lives.

Take a look at other PostHog updates and features that stood out to me.
